Sometimes the best thing you can do for your community is… absolutely nothing.
Here’s a Facebook group strategy that sounds completely backwards:
Post something amazing. Pin it to the top. Then disappear.
I mean it. Vanish. Poof. Gone.
Walk away for 24 hours.
Why This Works
When you post a killer question and then ghost, something magical happens:
Your members start talking to each other instead of just talking to you.
Sarah doesn’t wait for you to answer—Jessica jumps in.
Mark shares his struggle—three people offer support.
Someone posts a win—celebration thread erupts.
Without you.
That’s when your group stops being “my group” and becomes “our community.”
How to Do It
Step 1: Post something juicy
- “What’s your biggest win this week?”
- “What advice would you give your past self?”
Step 2: Pin it to the top
Step 3: Walk away for 24 hours (resist the urge to peek!)
Step 4: Come back to comments and people connecting.
The Plot Twist
This strategy is how I went from exhausted admin posting 5X/day to relaxed facilitator managing 330,000 members.
The less I hovered, the more they connected.
The more they connected, the faster the group grew.
Wild, right?
Try It This Week
Post one excellent question today. Pin it. Vanish for 24 hours.
Come back tomorrow and prepare to be delighted. 💙
